CACI Celebrates the Air Force's 68th Birthday
For most of its history, humanity waged war on land and at sea. We reconnoitered enemy positions with telescopes and strategic high ground. Precision assault was barely an option with cannon and mortars.
With the discovery of heavier-than-air flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in 1903, all that changed and a new strategic and tactical dimension was added to the calculus of military power. Scarcely three years later, the United States Army Signal Corps established an aviation division. It took another 40 years, and the National Security Act of 1947, to create the United States Air Force on September 18.
Today, the United States Air Force celebrates its 68th birthday as an independent service. Since its formation, the Air Force has grown into one of the most technologically innovative and sophisticated services in the world, with a mission portfolio that goes well beyond air superiority into space superiority, beyond mapping and reconnaissance to information superiority and agile combat support.
CACI is proud to have supported the Air Force's continuing mission for technological innovation and global reach for over 45 years, delivering the high-end solutions and services the Air Force requires to complete its critical missions. Our support ranges from surveillance and reconnaissance tools that deliver key intelligence, to the cyber security that protects it, to the logistics and material readiness solutions that help keep the Air Force flying.
CACI expresses its thanks today to all the dedicated men and women of the Air Force who help us fly faster, farther, and higher than ever before in support of the ultimate mission of keeping America safe.
